Chromebook Basics
This very brief video below was created just to show the few things you might need, but that aren't immediately obvious.
Overall the Chromebook is much like using a laptop on the internet with Chrome as the browser. The video addresses:
Important tip: All users need to remember to sign out or power down when finished working with the Chromebooks. If you just shut the lid, the next person who opens it will find your account signed in right where you left off.
This session doesn't last the usual 15 - 30 minutes. Ideally you'd take some time to work with the Chromebook, but most of you won't have access to one during the summer. Hopefully they'll all be available as soon as we return to school later this month and you'll get a chance to experiment with one.

- Zooming - You might have to do this more with the smaller screen.
- Right clicking - There is no button for this. Just do a two-finger tap.

Please contact me if you have any other questions about the Chromebooks. I can update this page or video as necessary.
- Printing is disabled on the Chromebooks. They are designed for a paperless environment and I encourage all teachers to help students get used to that. If absolutely necessary, printing can be done easily by accessing the files through Drive using a laptop or desktop computer.
- Users must sign in with the lakevillefalcons accounts. Personal Google accounts will not work.
- There's no Delete key. The Backspace key is where you'd expect and it works like Delete in most ways. I did miss having a key to delete the characters to the right of the cursor. I found you can achieve that by pressing Alt+Backspace.
